Machine Shop

The Machine Shop, located in Bourns Hall, B-Wing Room B155, specializes in design, research, development of experimental apparatus, and prototype equipment. The shop’s capabilities consist of complete design of fabrication of two- to three-dimensional surfaces, including precision tooling, structural weldments, design assistance, sheet metal and plastic structures.

Training

Trainings are scheduled per request once Canvas has been completed and are 4hrs for each type of equipment, then requires passing a basic use test after.

Rates

Sales and service rates are $40.00/hr labor. All estimates include labor and any materials/parts needed for the job.

Work Order/Estimates Process:

Quotes from the shop require a submission of solid model and fully dimensioned prints and any other info related to the request to [email protected].
The shop reviews the request, and creates a work order "quote". This needs to be signed off by the PI and Analyst with a valid COA, then returned to the shop.

All shop access is through Canvas. Please request your access by emailing [email protected] from your @ucr email.
